ARTOUR- O Contemporary Art event at Villa La Vedetta & Villa Fani in Florence: March 14-16, 2014



For the 10th edition of ARTOUR- O at Villa La Vedetta and the private Villa Fani in Florence, this year promises to be full of interesting events related to dialogues within the world of contemporary art and design. March 14-16, 2014 will be 3 days of conferences, in-depth focus discussions and exhibitions, where organizations, institutions, associations, museums and companies come together in the Tuscan capital to tell their identity and activities that take place constantly in their territory.

The sections Interior, In the Park, and At the Table, will take place at the VillaLa Vedetta and in the new prestigious location, Villa Fani, a private villa in Via Salvi Christians 22, open to the public exceptionally for ARTOUR- O.

On the occasion of the celebrations of the 450th anniversary of the death of Michelangelo, ARTOUR- O present Michelangelo and Me, which features young talented artist under 35 years, but also Over 35, on display in both Villas and later at the Academy of Arts and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in coordination with Toscanaincontemporanea – the primacy of drawing: Michelangelo in contemporary Tuscany.

The event opens March 13th at the Villa La Vedetta and Villa Fani on Friday, March 14. Open to the public from Friday, March 14 to Sunday, March 16. On Sunday, March 16 at 12 noon the ARTOUR -O Silver award ceremony will take place.

The sections of ARTOUR- O the MUST:

ARTOUR -O INTERIOR in both venues: art and design in everyday life.

ARTOUR- O TABLE artists are invited to express their relationship with food and nutrition, with an exhibition held in the lounge area of Villa La Vedette. Each work is accompanied by a symbolic plate designed to survive on a another planet in homage to the menu E su Marte porterei of the chef of the restaurant Onice of Villa La Vedetta.

ARTOUR -O IN THE PARK exhibition open until the end of June, with sculptures and installations set up in an artistic path that winds through the park surrounding Villa La Vedette and in the garden of Villa Fani.

ARTOUR -O CITY during the four days of the event, a path marked by contemporary works of art touches the most beautiful and exclusive locations of the Tuscan capital. These include the headquarters of ADD, the Museum of the Cloister of Santa Maria Novella Complex, Officina Profumo di Santa Maria Novella Pharmaceuticals, MNAF – the Alinari National Museum of Photography, the Museum of Bigallo, the complex of Sant ‘ Ursula, Palazzo Giovane, the palaces of the aristocracy and entrepreneurship as the Florentine Academy of Art and Design and the Grand Hotel Minerva, but also Fani Gioielli, the gallery Biagiotti Progetto Arte, Penko Goldsmith Shop, Cafe Florian, Hotel Tornabuoni Beacci, London Hotels, Studio Most, Vranjes, and UB.

The focus of ARTOUR -O provides occasions for deepening theoreticalm and this year explores the figure of Michelangelo and the dialogue between the culture of the past and the present.

‘MUST’ stands for MUSeo Temporaneo (Temporary Museum). The main headquarters are in Florence, where many institutions converge with artists providing a new opportunity every year for a vital temporary museum. Artour-o also likes to travel and it has become international in order to stimulate the dialogue between culture and different lifestyle systems. Artour-o has been to Rome, Shanghai, Yiwu, London, and many other destinations will be discovered soon.

ARTOUR-O is the event for people breathing Italian culture with its inclination towards art and beauty. Networking during the exhibition increase relationships between institutes, artist, private investors and the public.
