The Associazione Culturale Dello Scompiglio is looking for 10 interns to take part in the installation of the exhibition “A Long Day” by Japanese artist, Chiharu Shiota, and curated by Franziska Nori. The invitation is intended for students at Academies of Fine Arts, humanities students or recent graduates looking to enter the field of contemporary arts. An opportunity to experience all the phases of constructing a large site specific installation in which strands of black wool are woven within the space to construct a dense and tangled web. You must be able to work in a team and have manual ability. Preference will be given to those who have independent means of transportation (the Tenuta Dello Scompiglio is in Vorno, in the province of Lucca, about 18km from Pisa). Food and board will be provided for the entire duration of the installation process.

Chiharu Shiota (1972, Osaka, Japan; lives and works in Berlin), initially studied at the Kyoto Seika University, then continued her studies at international level at the Canberra School of Art at the Australian National University between 1993 and 1994 and subsequently in Germany at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste (College of Fine Arts) in Brunswick and the Universität der Künste (University of the Arts) in Berlin. Further endorsement of this artist’s global aptitude is her work as guest professor at the Kyoto Seika University and, since 2011, at the California College of the Arts.
