ARTEFIERA January 23-26, 2015: once again this year with the 39th edition, Bologna hosts Artefiera: International Exhibition of Contemporary Art. This is one of the most important contemporary art fairs in Italy and is only a quick 35 minute train ride to Bologna from Florence, and SACI students love attending this big event every spring! Galleries from all of the country as well as international ones will be exhibiting over 1100 contemporary artists. And the night of Saturday, January 24, the city of Bologna has a “White Night” celebration where shops, art galleries and museums will be open late into the wee hours of the night and having special events (see below).

Monday 26 January from 11am to 5pm

Daily ticket: € 20.00
Pass for 4 days: € 35.00
Pass for 3 days: € 33.00
Pass for 2 days: € 30.00

Reduced group ticket (15 persons minimum): € 15.00

50% discount for students and a teacher for free (upon presentation of a list drawn up on school letterhead and signed by the school principal).


The guided tours at the fair are free of charge upon registration at the VIP desk starting from 20 minutes before the scheduled time from Friday to Sunday at 1pm. Visit duration: 1h and 30’ approximately.

From the Train Station

Bologna Central Train Station is only 10 minutes far from BolognaFiere and its Piazza Costituzione entrance. You can reach them by the bus number 35 or 38.

From the motorway (autostrada)

From the motorways coming from Florence, Milan and Ancona:
– Exit “BOLOGNA FIERA”, directly from the motorway A14
From the motorways coming from Padua:
– Ring-road (tangenziale) exit no. 8 for North entrance
– Ring-road exit no. 7 for Piazza Costituzione entrance and car parking

From the center of Bologna

It takes 10 minutes by bus number 28 or 38 to bring you to Piazza Costituzione entrance.

All parking areas are in the immediate vicinity of Centre entrances and are easily reached from the city streets, the motorway, and the ring road. There are 14.500 parking lots.

All parking areas are managed and guarded by personnel authorized by Bologna & Fiera Parking, easily identified by their blue uniform with the company’s name and logo.

There are two ways to pay for parking:

  • via cash machine – automatic and manual
  • via authorized personnel equipped with hand-held devices that issue a receipt

Museums, exhibitions, events in town

ART CITY Bologna 2015 is a program of exhibitions and institutional initiatives to be held in museums and public spaces around the city throughout Arte Fiera. Third edition of the special program of events aimed at the rediscovery of Bologna as a city of culture, in an intense weekend dedicated to art. A real museum “path” that, starting from the fair, passes through the historic city center before spreading into the whole urban fabric. In Bologna from January 23-25, 2015.

SACI is a US non-profit College of Art and Design in Florence, Italy, for undergraduate and graduate students seeking accredited instruction in studio art, design, conservation, art history, and Italian language and culture.
