The Spring 2015 term at SACI is coming to a close this week with a flurry of student exhibitions and performances, in addition to those from last week in the SACI Galleries and in off-site locations around Florence. And this weekend, SACI looks forward to its 40th Anniversary Alumni Reunion Celebration as well as the first MFA in Studio Art Commencement Ceremony, with guest speaker, artist Lawrence Carroll.

Tuesday, April 21: Digital Multimedia Exhibition

Wednesday, April 22: “Shared Space” Installation & Performance Art Exhibition

8:00 pm ~ Exhibition & performance by SACI students in the Installation & Performance Art class

LOCATION: Il Vivaio del Malcantone, Via del Malcantone 15/b – Florence, Italy
ATAF Bus: #17 direction “Verga” – stop: Santi Fiorentini (see the map).

Installations and performances by: Brent Adkins, Gwynneth Alldis, Kevin Aranibar Molina, Morgane Dugas, Taylor Helmer, Soo Hyun Kim, Dana Moor, John Ralston.

Throughout the semester, the students explored conceptual and formal practices focusing on the linguistic, emotional and cultural intersections between contemporary language and public spheres. Shared Space is the final project the students completed. Videos and other records of previous Installation & Performance Art projects by the students will also be on view.
