Every summer, the city of Pistoia (about 40 minutes from Florence) hosts the biggest blues festival in Tuscany, headlining big names in Blues and Rock in the city’s beautiful Piazza Duomo. This year, you can get your dose of summer blues July 1-24.

For the first time Sting is going to play at Pistoia Blues with the best songs of his great repertoire on July 24, 2015. Did you know that Sting is a member of the SACI Artists Council?

Mumford & Sons are the most celebrated English folk band of the last few years and are on stage at Pistoia Blues the 1st of July, with a great new record.


Counting Crows: July 3


The Irish songwriter Hozier topped the charts all over the world with the song “Take Me to Church”. He will play at the festival on the 7th of July, to present his self-titled best seller debut album.

Back from a US tour in October and November 2014, sold out everywhere (from Los Angeles to New York), he’s going to present his songs with soul, blues and folk sounds.

Mike Rosenberg aka Passenger is an English songwriter, his single “Let Her Go”, nominated at the Brit Awards “Single of the year”, topped the charts in over 20 countries, becoming a best seller throughout Europe.

Passenger will be on stage at Pistoia Blues next July 15, to present his last full album “Whispers”, came out in 2014.

Italian Blues Night features a long list of guests all night long from 7pm.

Pistoia Blues presents Black Label Society and The Darkness for their only Italian date on July 18, 2015. The Darkness are a British hard rock band formed by Justin Hawkins, singer and guitarist. They’re well known for the single “I believe in a thing called love”: a best seller in Europe and Usa.

Black Label Society are the band founded by Zakk Wylde, guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne and icon of the metal blues style. They started in 1998, with a powerful sound inspired by southern American roots music.

July 19, Dream Theater will play their strong progressive sound in Piazza Duomo, Pistoia. Dream Theater is one of the most influential bands of the prog-rock style of the last thirty years, well known as icon of progressive.

With many studio albums and famous masterpieces such as the acclaimed “Images & words”, DT have had commercial success with powerful melodies that sold over 12 million records all around the world.

A great return to Pistoia after the success of his concerts in 1996 and 2004, Carlos Santana and his band will perform in Pistoia on July 21, to promote the album “Corazon” (2014).

Carlos Santana is considered among the 20 best guitarists in the world and will be accompanied by some sensational musicians: David K. Mathews (keyboards), Benny Rietveld (bass), Jose “Pepe” Jimenez (drums), Paoli Mejias (percussions), Tony Lindsay (lead and background vocals), Tommy Anthony (guitars / vocals), Jeff Chessman (trumpets), Bill Ortiz (trumpet), Karl Perazzo (percussions), Andy Vargas (lead and background vocals).

For the first time Sting is going to play in piazza Duomo, Pistoia: an incredible concert with the best songs of his great repertoire. Pistoia Blues is proud to host the legendary bassist on July 24, 2015.

Sting will be touring next summer with his rock band, to bring on major European stages the best of his music, including some famous songs of The Police.
