AMACI @ SACI: MFA Open Studios
Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 4-7pm
On Saturday, October 10, 2015, the 11th AMACI Giornata del Contemporaneo – the Day of Contemporary Art – will be held throughout Italy, to focus on the art of our times.
The major event conceived for contemporary art and its public is now in its eleventh year. Doors will open free of charge to present artists and new ideas through exhibitions, workshops, events and conferences, as part of a multifaceted programme that, year after year, offers the public an opportunity to experience the complex and lively world of contemporary art.
Since its inception, the Day of Contemporary Art has been supported by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, and has obtained the sponsorship of Italy’s leading institutions.
SACI invites the general public to meet and interact with young contemporary artists during a SACI MFA Open Studio event on October 10th from 4-7pm where visitors can experience art in the making, and visit the Jules Maidoff Palazzo Gallery, which will be featuring works by Daniele Nannini, Animal Portraits.
Studio Art Centers International (SACI) in Florence, Italy offers the only US-accredited MFA in Studio Art and MFA in Photography programs taught entirely in Europe. During their two years in these programs, students are immersed in the contemporary art world. They work in a creative environment of rigorous critical and technical inquiry and draw inspiration from their direct exposure to the unique artistic and cultural resources of Italy. They specialize in Painting, Drawing, or Photography, and work in studios in a fully renovated Renaissance palazzo in Florence’s historic center. The palazzo includes a contemporary art gallery that features works by emerging and established artists of both local and international stature. SACI also offers a one-year MA in Art History.
