SACI alum, Samantha Beste (Spring 1984) has had a piece selected for a group show, Fight of Flight, curated by Alix Bailey, Barbara Marks and Patricia Spergel.

This year I have been making many reflections of our current shadowed, confused state, here in New York City – a “flight” response, with nowhere to go. – Samantha Beste

There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that the November 2016 presidential election changed the political landscape forever and touched every U.S. resident in every corner of the country. For The Painting Center’s annual juried exhibition, FIGHT OR FLIGHT, they asked artists how the turbulent political environment has affected their work. Did they become more politically active by fighting—protesting, calling representatives, writing letters or did they retreat into their studios to shut out the frenetic world? Sydney Albertini: The Woman’s Work

SACI alum, Sydney Albertini (Spring 1997), will exhibit seven large scale works on paper in a solo show at East Hampton’s iconic John Little Barn at Duck Creek Farm.
